Beschreibung: Crowds of people are shown queuing outside the banks in the streets of Paris, as the immediate financial crisis before the outbreak of war threatens the French currency.The Grenadier Guards, in parade dress, lead the recruiting march through the streets, followed by sailors and marines (some of whom are pulling Maxim guns on wheels). Civilians fall in behind the march.The sailors are practising for a tournament in an enclosure. Teams practise disassembling and reassembling their muzzle-loading light guns in order to race with them over obstacles. Each team fires its gun.
